TheeReader

theereader.com

We read the fine print. Not the marketing copy.

Four e-ink brands — Kobo, Boox, Meebook, and PocketBook — covered by what they actually publish about returns, warranty, and ownership. No star ratings, no pretending we've put hundreds of hours on a device we bought once.

What we actually do here

Every brand page on this site is built from the same three sources: the seller's published return policy, its warranty document, and whatever is publicly known about who owns the company. We quote the numbers, we link to where we found them, and when a brand hasn't published something — Meebook's warranty terms, or a US-specific page for PocketBook — we say so instead of filling the gap with a plausible-sounding guess.

We don't publish prices. Listing prices move by the week; a number frozen on a review page from three months ago reads as current when it isn't. Every "Check Price" button goes straight to the live listing instead.

Reviews

Meebook

A 2021 successor company built by former Boyue/Likebook staff — not a rebrand, a new company with the old team.

PocketBook

A 24-month published warranty — the longest on this site — from a privately held company with no parent conglomerate.

Kobo

Rakuten-owned, format-open, built to compete with Kindle's bookstore rather than just its hardware.

Boox

Full Android E Ink tablets from Onyx International — sideloadable apps, a stylus, and a steeper setup.
